Specific Examination Arrangements (SEAs - formally known as Special Exam Arrangements) support students with a disability, long or short-term conditions, and carers. The need for Specific Examination Arrangements (SEAs) is determined through a collaborative assessment between the student and their Accessibility Case Manager. Agreed arrangements are documented in the student's Education Access Plan (EAP).
Please note Accessibility experiences a high volume of demand before every examination period. It can take at least 2 weeks to meet with an advisor after you have registered with the service, and sometimes the wait is longer at busy times.
Examinations may be run by the Examinations Office or the Academic College/s, and they are responsible for implementing the SEAs, including any deadlines for SEAs to be in place. Students will receive an email from the Examinations Office, Academic College/s or convenors with details of their examination schedule and SEAs.
The Examinations Office contacts all students by email with information about deadlines and processes for centrally run examinations. It is your responsibility to ensure you have an EAP for the current semester before any deadlines and to follow the processes set out by the Examinations Office.
Students will receive an email from the Examinations Office with details of their SEAs. If you have received your email from the Examinations Office and you have any concerns, please contact the Examinations Office at examinations.officer@anu.edu.au outlining the problem and attach a copy of your current EAP.
For examinations run by the Academic College(s) students are responsible contacting their Course Convenor(s) at least two weeks prior to the examination date to discuss their SEAs. Requests after this date will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you do not receive an email outlining your SEAs within 5 business days of your exam, please contact the relevant Academic College(s) / Course Convenor(s).
Accessibility is not able to provide an EAP for students with unexpected injuries or illness close to the SEA deadlines.
