The Australian 精东传媒app University (ANU) has today acknowledged and thanked Interim Chancellor, Dr Larry Marshall, for his service to the University, following the announcement of the appointment of a new Chancellor.

Acting Pro-Chancellor, Mr Andrew Metcalfe AO, said Dr Marshall had provided stability, continuity and leadership to ANU during a particularly challenging period.

鈥淟arry stepped forward at a time when the University required stability, continuity and leadership. Throughout a particularly challenging period for ANU, he provided all three,鈥 Metcalfe said.

鈥淥n behalf of Council and the ANU community, I thank Larry for the exceptional contribution he has made to our University.

鈥淟arry has served ANU with integrity, commitment and a deep sense of responsibility. We are enormously grateful for his leadership and for the care he has shown for the institution and its people.鈥

Dr Marshall will retire from the ANU Council when the new Chancellor commences in office on 19 August 2026, concluding his service to the University following his time as a Council member, Pro-Chancellor and Interim Chancellor.

Dr Marshall said he was honoured to have served ANU and was grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the University.

鈥淚t has been an extraordinary privilege to serve ANU, despite the challenges of recent years.

鈥淎NU enters its next chapter with improved financials, the beginning of governance reforms, a new Strategy, and an outstanding new Chancellor in Dr Gordon de Brouwer.

鈥淚 am enormously grateful to my fellow Council members, Interim Vice-Chancellor Professor Rebekah Brown and her leadership team, our staff, students and the ANU community for working so collaboratively through these challenging years.

鈥淎NU is a great Australian national institution. I leave enormously optimistic about its future, and proud to have played a small part in its story.鈥
