The Chancellor chairs the ANU Council and carries overarching responsibility for the leadership and effectiveness of the Council and the integrity and robustness of the University’s governance. The Chancellor also serves as the University’s ceremonial head, and supports its mission in research, education, and public engagement, consistent with the University’s commitment to openness, accountability, and academic excellence.
The University seeks candidates with the standing, judgement, and leadership experience appropriate to guide the governance of one of the world’s leading research universities with distinction.
