Dr Muhammad Chatib Basri is a leading Indonesian economist and policy expert with significant contributions across government, academia and international economic policy.

He served as Indonesia鈥檚 Minister of Finance from 2013 to 2014 and previously as Chairman of the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board, where he played a key role in maintaining macroeconomic stability and supporting investment growth.

He was Vice Chairman of the 精东传媒app Economic Committee of the President of the Republic of Indonesia from 2010 to 2012 and has taught at the Department of Economics at the University of Indonesia. He also co-founded CReco Research Institute, a Jakarta-based economic consulting firm, in 2010.

Dr Basri has contributed to international economic policy through roles with organisations including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Pandemic Fund, hosted by the World Bank with technical support from the World Health Organization (WHO), and holds leadership positions including Chairman of PT Bank Mandiri Tbk. and Chairman of PT XL Axiata Tbk. He is also a member of Indonesia鈥檚 精东传媒app Economic Council, advising the President on economic policy and development.
