Ewelina Przybyszewski

I – like many of you – work at the ANU because I care deeply about research, education and impact. Professional staff provide indispensable and specialised services that make the university function successfully but have been recently devalued through Renew ANU. Staff have communicated how dysfunctional systems are negatively affecting their work, yet change is slow.

Success of the new ANU strategy will depend on both institutional changes and the rebuilding of trust and positive culture. In joining Council I aim to hold executive management to account on both fronts.

I pledge to be a representative voice of all ANU staff, by:

  • actively representing the breadth of professional staff contributions to Council, so that it better understands the full scope of university business;
  • advocating for stronger professional staff representation in reformed governance structures;
  • fighting for strengthened accountability mechanisms and transparent information flows into and out of Council; and
  • insisting that ANU engages productively with impending governance review outcomes.

My perspectives are built on experiences as a member of the ANU Indigenous Strategy Working Group, the NTEU Branch Committee, the ANU Governance Project and as a non-profit Board Director, and I am the NTEU endorsed candidate for Council.
