Danielle Neale

I am nominating for Council to be a strong and effective voice for professional staff, and to ensure our perspectives are heard and reflected in decision-making. I care deeply about helping ANU balance staff wellbeing with long-term sustainability.

Over the past decade, I have held senior leadership roles at ANU and other Go8 universities. I bring a strong foundation in governance, leadership and operations. I hold an MBA specialising in technology, am a graduate of the AICD program, serve on the Board of Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia, and am studying the Juris Doctor at ANU Law School — an opportunity I regard as a privilege.

I have built a recognised track record of leadership in research translation, technology and entrepreneurship, including contributions to policy, culture, institutional change, partnerships and revenue growth. At ANU, I lead the team supporting researchers with commercialisation and IP management, and I am deeply committed to helping researchers extend the impact of their work across a wide range of fields, including humanities, science, technology, health and Indigenous affairs.

I would bring governance, policy and board experience, and be accessible to staff, listening carefully and helping carry broader staff perspectives into Council discussions.
